Job summary

GVI Inc. in Norfolk, VA seeks a detail-oriented Library Technician to support the MSC Engineering Department's Technical Documentation Branch.

You will manage engineering records, digitize information, and maintain the MSC VTL while coordinating distribution of technical data to ships. Requirements include a High School Diploma, 3 years in MSC technical library, 2 years with SAMM VTL, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 3 years' experience working in the MSC technical library.
• 2 years' experience using SAMM VTL applications.
• Experience responding to customer service requests.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and technical records, cataloging and distributing documentation.
• Support day-to-day operations by handling calls and emails.
• Maintain regulatory approval documentation from USCG, ABS and others.
• Digitize technical information into electronic formats.
• Support the MSC SAMM Virtual Technical Library (VTL).
• Prepare and ship technical documents and laminations.
• Assist with distribution of data to vessels.
