Job summary

Wonder is seeking a Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering to lead hardware development for its next-generation automated beverage platform. You will start from concept to production, building and guiding a team of mechanical engineers while delivering complex industrial automation projects on tight timelines.

You will collaborate across Software, Ops, Culinary, and product teams to ensure the system meets agreed specs, while driving timelines and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in mechanical engineering product development in industrial automation; 2+ years in staff/leadership roles.
• Engineering leader who can own difficult parts and mentor others.
• Strong knowledge of robotics systems and collaboration with software/product teams.
• Experience with standard automation components (gantry, conveyors, actuators, sensors).
• Proven CAD-to-reality capability with minimal prototype cycles.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware design and development of flagship beverage automation product, including leadership of engineers.
• Collaborate with Software, Ops, Culinary, and other teams to ensure the system meets specs.
• Lead and grow a 3–4 person mechanical engineering team; foster accountability and growth.
• Document design decisions and history; enforce design documentation processes.
• Drive design, prototype, and validation timelines to meet product deadlines.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers on the product team.
