Job summary

MSU Federal Credit Union is seeking a Software Engineering Lead to own the design, development, and lifecycle of a portfolio of software solutions, including web, mobile, and core banking systems. You will lead a team, drive SDLC activities, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure solutions.

You will work onsite, hybrid, or remote within Michigan or Illinois, with travel to East Lansing quarterly as needed. Strong programming, cloud, and leadership skills required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or related field or 3 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language: C# (ASP.NET Core), Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of common JavaScript frameworks: Node.js, React, React Native.
• Familiarity with web technologies: HTML5, CSS, web services.
• Understanding of databases and SQL; ability to write queries.
• Knowledge of web security concerns (OWASP top-10).
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, especially AWS and Azure.
• Ability to read and write complex system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead hiring, coaching and mentoring a team of software engineers.
• Develop, maintain and enforce development standards and security requirements.
• Collaborate with product/project teams to ensure feedback loops and quality solutions.
• Analyze business problems and design enterprise-level software solutions.
• Independently lead design and development of programming projects; communicate with stakeholders.
• Oversee SDLC activities: analysis, design, tests, deployment and maintenance.
• Participate in cross-functional agile development and project management.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support cloud-based infrastructure.
