TECO Energy invites college students to join our Spring 2027 Student Internship - Engineering, Plant City Distribution Design. This role supports coordination and design of Tampa Electric's distribution system, collaborating with customers and TEC departments to develop feasible project plans and permit drawings.

Qualifications

• Engineering student enrolled in a university (Junior or Senior) with Electrical Engineering focus.
• Enrollment in the university co-op program (or eligible) is required.
• Part-time co-op/internship, 20–30 hours per week, in Plant City, FL.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to assess needs and feasibility of construction projects.
• Create and manage Work Requests in WMS and track phases.
• Analyze load, design TEC facilities per NESC and TEC specs.
• Design in GIS and prepare GIS prints for regulatory and field use.
• Produce construction prints and plan MOT as needed for safety and traffic.
• Generate cost estimates and communicate CIAC needs to customers.
