Job summary

TECO Energy invites qualified students to apply for the Spring 2027 Engineering Internship in Plant City. The program provides real-world experience in distribution design, project coordination, and customer interactions within TEC’s electric system.

You will work on meaningful projects under experienced engineers, gaining hands-on skills and professional mentorship. The internship is part-time (20-30 hours) with typical office hours, located in Plant City, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to conduct needs and feasibility assessments for multiple projects.
• Manage schedules and completion dates across construction phases.
• Coordinate TEC departments and customers through meetings and communications.
• Create and manage work requests in the Work Management System (WMS).
• Perform load analysis, facility siting, and design per TEC/NEC standards.
• Produce construction prints and GIS updates for field crews and inspectors.
• Prepare cost estimates and revenue projections for projects.
