Job summary

Envelop Group's internship program in Indianapolis, IN offers mentoring, hands-on field work in HVAC and Building Automation, and exposure to engineering workflows. The paid internship runs May–August 2025 with up to 40 hours/week for at least 10 weeks.

You will work under guidance from an experienced Engineer to create diagrams, develop software, coordinate submittals, and assist with commissioning and data analysis while exploring innovative technologies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical design documents (duct layouts, piping schematics, riser diagrams).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Growth mindset focused on continual learning and improvement.
• Preference for local candidates; no relocation or housing stipend available.
• Must possess valid US work authorization and not require future visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel to customer job sites, including outdoor environments and mechanical spaces.

Responsibilities

• Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per project requirements.
• Coordinate and create drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installations.
• Assist in loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers.
• Assist with validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems to ensure proper operation.
• Monitor system performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement or optimization.
• Conduct research on innovative technologies and strategies to enhance system functionality.
• Other duties as assigned.
