Job summary

Envelop Group is seeking a Field Technician Intern in Indianapolis, IN to support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of low-voltage building systems. You will work alongside experienced technicians in the field while developing technical and professional skills.

This paid internship runs May–August 2027, up to 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks. Travel to customer sites is possible, and safety, documentation, and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a related technical bachelor's or engineering program.
• Experience with electrical systems, HVAC, or building technologies is a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings or schematics is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to customer job sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installations, configuration, and commissioning of systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage building technology systems.
• Learn to use diagnostic equipment and software for system support.
• Read drawings, schematics, and operation sequences.
• Support site testing, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Gain exposure to HVAC, building automation, security, and AV tech.
• Coordinate materials, tools, and on-site work requirements.
• Monitor system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work and equipment.
• Follow safety requirements and protect company tools.
