Job summary

Envelop Group's Open Control Systems (OCS) internship program in Tampa, FL provides hands-on exposure to HVAC and Building Automation. Paid internship with mentoring, activities, and field work runs May to August 2027, requiring up to 40 hours/week for at least 10 weeks.

Students gain experience from installations to data analysis under supervision. The role focuses on learning to interpret mechanical designs, using tools and software, and contributing to on-site installation and performance

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering or HVAC Technical Program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Ability to read and understand mechanical design documents (duct layouts, piping schematics, riser diagrams) is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist experienced Controls Technicians with installations, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of building automation systems.
Learn to use software and technology and a variety of hand-tools to diagnose and repair equipment.
Gather materials and synchronize on-site work to understand installation and repair requirements.
Monitor system performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement or optimization.
