Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking Engineering Interns to contribute to next-generation C3 technologies across software, networking, and data analytics disciplines. You will work with Python, Java, C/C++, and MATLAB, applying AI and data science concepts while learning from mentors in a collaborative environment.

You’ll engage in modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks, support RF and communications work, and develop tools for mission planning and decision support.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, RF Engineering, Math, Statistics, Physics, or related technical areas.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Experience through coursework, research, projects, competitions, or internships in programming languages and/or data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with strong communication skills.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret clearance at start date and Top Secret clearance eventuality.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to software, scripts, or analytical tools for engineering problems.
  • Assist with modeling, simulation, and data analysis of complex systems.
  • Support testing, experimentation, and technology demonstrations.
  • Present work to technical staff and leadership at internship conclusion.
