Job summary

NiSource invites students to join its Summer Engineering Generation Internship program in Indiana. You will work with the generation and engineering teams, contributing to permits, material management, scheduling, and project documentation while gaining exposure to NiSource’s operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Education or Technology.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week onsite during the summer.
• Proficiency with MS Excel & Access.
• Proven communication skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good planning, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform duties effectively at all times.
• GPA 3.0 and above.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Must have a valid driver’s license Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Assist with permits, preparation and execution of job orders, procurement of materials, processing of material invoices, tracking of materials, and preparation and submittal of close-out packets.
• Maintains and monitors project files for accuracy and completeness.
• Supports the planning, estimating, scheduling, risk analysis, agreements for land, engineering services, pipeline interconnects and reimbursements.
• Assists with the preparation of bid packets and contractor selection, additional project management of extraordinary gas transmission and distribution facilities and high profile projects.
• Manages projects in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, ensuring safe reliable service to customers in an efficient, economical manner.
• Collaborate and strategize with peers within NiSource companies and in industry to ensure cost effective project management.
• Compliance Training
• Reviews and assists with the development of new course content as needed.
• Complies with all NERC training requirements within standard PER-005 and adheres to ethics policies.
• Assists with the support of the maintenance and improvement of systems and software programs used by the NERC Compliance, CIP Compliance, Operations Technology, and Training area.
