Job summary

CTG is seeking an Engineering Document Control Specialist in Whiting, IN to manage engineering drawings and technical documentation within a refinery environment.

The role focuses on version control, metadata, and EDMS such as ALIM and SharePoint, with limited CAD work. Collaboration across engineering, maintenance, project and TAR teams is essential.

Strong communication and attention to detail are required; CAD experience is a must, while design work is minimal.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in information management or engineering context.
• Experience managing engineering drawings and documents.
• Ability to interpret redlines and coordinate updates with CAD drafters.
• Familiarity with EDMS systems (ALIM, SharePoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage drawings, revisions, and redline updates per standards and procedures.
• Control check-in/check-out processes to ensure version control.
• Maintain metadata, audit trails, and history in EDMS (ALIM, SharePoint).
• Coordinate drawing updates and documentation workflows across teams.
• Serve as point of contact for drawing requests and coordination.
• Ensure compliance with drawing standards and perform audits for non-conformance.
• Support audit readiness with current, compliant records.
• Track revisions, approvals, and overdue actions.
• Review and validate P&IDs and piping isometrics.
• Perform quality checks on drawing packages; provide limited CAD updates if needed.
• Support scanning, printing, plotting, and archiving of documents.
• Assist in retrieval, reporting, and records management activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, contractors, and operations staff.
