Job summary

Hawthorne Cat seeks an experienced Director of Engineering to provide engineering and sales support for power systems products and services. You will develop proposals, cost estimates, submittals, and drawings while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key duties include identifying customer requirements, preparing submittals, and advising on equipment performance and cost improvements. A PE is preferred, with a strong background in power generation and contract leadership.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (BA, MS) preferred; 5+ years in power generation with technical training.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience using MS Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel) and PC skills required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCad and MS Project preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must have a valid Drivers License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Identify customer technical requirements and provide product, service, or equipment information.
• Prepare submittal documents by studying blueprints, plans, specs and related documents.
• Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios and proposing changes.
• Comply with federal, state, and local requirements and advise customers accordingly.
• Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and training.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and prospects.
