Job summary

Hawthorne Cat, Waipahu, Hawaii, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead engineering and sales support for power systems equipment and services.

The role involves developing proposals, cost estimates, submittals, and drawings; managing multiple projects; and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Rentals, this exempt position drives growth in EPG, Industrial, and Marine sectors.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (BA, MS) preferred with 5+ years in power generation.
• PE license preferred.
• MS Office Suite, PC skills required.

Responsibilities

• Identify customer technical requirements and provide product, service or equipment information.
• Prepare submittal documents by studying blueprints, plans and specs.
• Evaluate cost-benefit ratios and propose equipment/process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements; advise on action steps.
• Maintain knowledge through training and professional engagement.
• Support sales engineering by addressing short- and long-term issues and options.
• Deliver technical presentations to customers and prospects.
• Lead vendor research and proposals with scope of work.
• Attend project meetings with clients as required.
