Job summary

FirstEnergy Service Co. is offering summer 2027 engineering co-op positions in Power Delivery and Construction & Design Services. The on-site roles require a BS in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (ABET) or Engineering Technology, with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Relocation near the assigned site is expected, with rotations across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and New Jersey. Co-ops participate in the on-the-job training, receive a personalized development plan, and engage

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Maintains minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Able to relocate near reporting location for the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers in developing or maintaining engineering programs, including procedures, analytics, and inputs.
• Assist in engineering studies, analysis, and/or design for transmission engineering planning and maintenance.
• Develop transmission line and substation design packages.
• Prepare summary reports and PowerPoint presentations to document analyses and recommendations.
• Participate in the Co-Op/Intern Professional Development Program.
