Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. invites applicants to join multiple Engineering Co-Op positions for Summer 2027, in Power Delivery and Construction & Design Services, on-site within a five-state footprint (OH, PA, WV, MD, NJ).

As a Co-Op, you will work full-time during business hours, gain a personalized development plan, participate in on-the-job training, and contribute to engineering projects while you learn about the electric utility industry.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a four-year ABET-accredited program in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Minimum GPA 2.5.
• Willing to relocate to reporting location for the duration of the assignment.
• Must be able to work full-time during regular business hours and not be enrolled in a conflicting school schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers in developing or maintaining engineering programs and procedures.
• Assist in engineering studies, analysis, and design for transmission engineering.
• Develop transmission line and substation design packages.
• Prepare summary reports and PowerPoint presentations documenting analysis and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on capital project portfolio and related tasks.
