Job summary

FirstEnergy Co-Op positions in Power Delivery and Construction & Design Services offer hands-on engineering experience for Summer 2027 across multiple locations including WV and PA.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering Technology degree from ABET-accredited programs, and must be able to relocate to the reporting location.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a four-year accredited college/university in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
• Must be able to relocate to reporting location for the duration of the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers in developing or maintaining engineering programs, including revising procedures, analytics, and verifying inputs.
• Assist engineers in performing engineering studies, analysis, and design related to transmission engineering planning and maintenance.
• Develop transmission line and substation design packages with engineers.
• Create summary reports and presentations documenting analyses and recommendations.
• Work with Project Managers on projects within the transmission capital portfolio.
• Provide analytical support for the 5-year capital project portfolio.
