Engineering - Chapter 74 Vocational Ed. Program
Grades 9-14 High School
Job Goal : To prepare students for careers and post-secondary education in the field of Engineering, and to instill the employability and professionalism skills needed to be successful in the workplace. This is an existing program, and the candidate will be expected to work with administration to ensure continued program success. This will include enhancing the Program Advisory Committee and ensuring curriculum/unit plans reflect the current and future MA CVTE Frameworks for Engineering.
The Team & Learning Environment : The Engineering Instructor will be working in a new, state‑of‑the‑art outfitted lab, to teach students the technical skills they need to be competitive in the workforce. The department is overseen by the Director of Career and Technical Education, who along with the Assistant Director, and current teacher work with an Advisory Committee made up of local area business leaders to ensure that our curriculum and equipment align with industry demand. New Teacher Support : Teachers who are new to the profession will be matched with a veteran teacher who will serve as a mentor and provide guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, assessments and grading, etc.
