Job summary

The Attleboro Public Schools' AHS Career and Technical Education department in Attleboro, MA, seeks a Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology instructor for the Chapter 74 Vocational Ed. Program at Attleboro High School.

You will align curricula with MA CVTE Frameworks and work with an Advisory Committee to keep the program current. Reporting to the CTE Director, you will mentor new teachers, uphold safety standards, and help advance instructional goals with industry partners.

Qualifications

  • MA DESE Teacher’s approval (Chapter 74) in Robotics and Automation Technology Program, or ability to obtain the license.
  • Associates degree or higher in a degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught.
  • Four years of full‑time employment experience directly related to the field of the license sought.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction in Robotics and Automation techniques per curriculum objectives and MA CVTE Frameworks.
  • Maintain a professional classroom/shop environment with emphasis on safety and skill mastery.
  • Attend General Advisory Committee meetings and collaborate with the CTE Director.
  • Set specific goals aligned with district and department requirements.
  • Support program improvement, equipment purchases, and grant preparation.

Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology - Chapter 74 Vocational Ed. Program

Grades 9-14High School

Job Goal : To prepare students for careers and post‑secondary education in the field of Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology, and to instill the employability and professionalism skills needed to be successful in the workplace. This is an existing program, and the candidate will be expected to work with administration to ensure continued program success. This will include enhancing the Program Advisory Committee and ensuring curriculum/ unit plans reflect the current and future MA CVTE Frameworks for Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology.

The Team & Learning Environment : The Robotics and Automation Engineering Technology Instructor will be working in a new, state‑of‑the‑art department, a new outfitted lab, to teach students the technical skills they need to be competitive in the workforce. The department is overseen by the Director of Career and Technical Education, who along with the teachers, works with an Advisory Committee, and area business leaders to ensure that our curriculum and equipment align with industry demand. New Teacher Support : Teachers who are new to the profession will be matched with a veteran teacher who will serve as a mentor and provide guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, assessments and grading, etc. Attleboro High School Career and Technical Education Department holds a deep commitment to candidates moving into a teaching career and provides a multitude of supports to ensure teacher success.

REPORTS TO: CTE Director

Principal Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the delivery of instruction of Robotics and Automation techniques, in accordance with departmental curriculum objectives and the MA CVTE Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain a professional classroom/shop environment, with an emphasis on safety, strong work ethic, and mastery of skills.
  • Attend General Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Establish and implement specific goals in accordance with district-wide, school-wide, and department requirements.
  • Support the CTE Director in recommending program improvement, equipment & supply purchases, and grant preparation.
Required Qualifications
  • MA DESE Teacher’s approval (Chapter 74) in the Robotics and Automation Technology Program, or ability to obtain the license.
  • Associates degree or higher in a degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught
