Job summary

State of Colorado is seeking an Engineering Assistant III (EPSA III) in the Construction unit to support Project Engineers, enforce standards, and manage materials testing for highway projects.

The role requires field and lab testing, document control, and coordination with contractors, along with ADA compliance support and public information duties. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of relevant experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field testing of soils, fill materials, aggregate base course, hot bituminous pavements and concrete used on CDOT projects.
• Ensure that sampling and testing frequencies meet CDOT's Field Materials Manual.
• Document and record samplings and test schedules, results of inspections, test results, etc. using various required software applications and forms.
• Evaluate, document, compile and distribute inspection and materials test results in accordance with the contract and established procedures.
• Oversee and inspect the work performed and materials incorporated into the project by the Contractor to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
