Job summary

State of Colorado, through CDOT, is seeking an Engineering Assistant III in Construction to assist Project Engineers. You will enforce standards, perform materials testing, collect field samples, and support design-phase administrative tasks, including public information and ADA compliance materials.

The role requires thorough testing, documentation, and quality control of field operations, with responsibilities for advising engineers and directing staff as needed to maintain project quality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field testing of soils, fill materials, aggregate base, asphalt pavements and concrete.
• Ensure sampling and testing frequencies meet CDOT's Field Materials Manual.
• Document and record samplings and test results using required software/forms.
• Evaluate, document, compile and distribute inspection and materials test results per contract procedures.
• Oversee and inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents.
