Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a senior Area Growth Leader to drive growth and profitability across Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. You will mentor project teams, optimize resource allocations, and ensure high-quality client deliverables in a matrix-based organization.

The position reports to the Regional Manager and requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and experience in business development and financial oversight across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer License or equivalent registration.
• 20+ years of industry experience including leadership, PMO oversight, client management, and business development.
• Experience influencing financial performance (budgeting, forecasting, profitability) within professional services.
• Experience working with state, county, and major municipality clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to Office Leaders to achieve regional and local priorities and goals.
• Collaborate with Business Line Leaders to align growth plans with strategies.
• Partner with Market Leaders to develop market strategies and client engagement.
• Ensure technical excellence, quality, and risk management across pursuits and projects.
• Drive staff engagement, retention, and mentorship.
• Oversee contracting strategy, scope management, and change management on key pursuits.
