Job summary

NC State University is seeking a College of Engineering Academic Advisor in Raleigh to guide first-year and transfer engineering students through course choices, degree requirements, and campus resources. You will help students build a solid foundation for engineering success and prepare materials for outreach and onboarding programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and relevant professional training.
  • Experience advising in higher education settings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of NC State policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized academic advising to first-year and transfer engineering students.
  • Monitor progress, identify concerns, and connect students with resources.
  • Review transcripts and address credit-transfer questions.
  • Teach 1–2 sections of E 122 during spring semester.
  • Develop and maintain advising materials with the team.
  • Collaborate on communications for newly admitted transfer students.
  • Support student programs and recruitment events, orientations, and design day.
