Job summary

North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University is seeking a Student Services Specialist within the College of Engineering to provide academic advising and oversee activities that promote student development, recruitment, orientation, registration and retention in the ECE programs.

The role emphasizes coordinating undergraduate student activities, communicating with students and faculty, and ensuring effective data handling and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Responsibilities

• Establish guidelines for students to enhance their performance and retention in their programs at the ECE Department.
• Communicate and work with students to gain understanding of a commitment to set work standards, processes, and procedures.
• Provide ongoing feedback to students on expectations and identify and suggest areas of improvement.
• Create and facilitate learning opportunities that include active participation, networking with colleagues in other organizations and attending in-house training on related systems operations.
• Provide directional input on student services.
• Coordinate and manage a broad scope of work operations and processes to meet programmatic expectations and outcomes.
• Coordinate and administer undergraduate students' professional and social activities for their retention and timely graduation.
• Manage and monitor these activities and assess their impact on the student experience.
• Provide student services including academic advising related activities as assigned.
• Inform and advise students on program requirements and processes.
• Identify and understand student service issues, client needs, and matters of a recurring nature to effectively address and resolve the issue.
• Initiate creative programming to engage student participation.
• Collect, research, and analyze information for processing, monitoring, or measuring data.
