Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an Engineered Systems Technician at Tec 2 or Tec 3 level to support programmatic equipment maintenance within the DP Infrastructure Planning Office. The role involves installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of systems including water cooling, mechanical alignment, fabrication, vacuum, and instrumentation.

The successful candidate will support preventive maintenance programs and document system status.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of equipment or systems.
• Ability to read and understand written or verbal instructions, drawings, layouts, and other related specifications.
• Demonstrated skill and experience in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions to problems affecting systems and/or equipment.
• Experience and skill in the preparation and presentation of systems/equipment reporting.
• Knowledge of the Laboratory's policies, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting equipment and systems maintenance and/or engineering.
• Ability to interpret and apply knowledge and practical understanding of equipment and systems theory and principles.
• Ability to work independently and as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical installation and/or maintenance for engineering systems (water cooling, mechanical alignment, fabrication, vacuum, instrumentation and control).
• Install, test, repair, maintain equipment; troubleshoot malfunctions and coordinate shutdowns or installations.
• Work from diagrams, schematics, and plans with close supervision where required.
• Protect and maintain sensitive or classified information in line with DOE requirements.
