Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM is seeking an Engineered Systems Technician 2/3 to support the Mechanical Diagnostics Team. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining complex electro-mechanical devices used to monitor beam properties in the LANSCE facility.

Role requires attention to safety, ability to work odd hours and on-call, and interaction with scientists and engineers. On-site work with potential access to a Q clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Use of mechanical tools and precision measurement devices (calipers, micrometers).
• Soldering techniques and wiring experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Ability to work in radiation areas following ALARA.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and rebuild mechanical and electrical systems of devices.
• Work with scientists, engineers and technicians to support accelerator operations.
• Follow instructions closely and consult supervisor when in doubt.
