Job summary

City of Chesapeake Virginia seeks an Engineer II/III to facilitate effective site development. The Engineer II will review roadway, drainage, grading and E&S control, and coordinate with developers and consultants to ensure timely project progression.

Engineer III will review EPA SWMM drainage analyses, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with the Public Facilities Manual. The role requires strong communication across departments and a focus on final inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field required.
• Engineer II requires a minimum of two years of related full-time experience.
• Engineer III requires a minimum of five years of related full-time experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve development plans for code compliance and public facilities drainage.
• Research and analyze engineering data to prepare and update plans and correspondence.
• Assist design consultants and developers through the development process.
