Job Description

The Engineer III performs advanced maintenance, repairs, and support functions in areas such as general maintenance, plumbing, kitchen & refrigeration equipment, carpentry, HVAC, pumps, controls, and electrical devices. They ensure assigned areas meet property standards with minimal supervision, support higher management levels, and perform related tasks within their area of expertise.

Responsibilities include:

1. Delivering superior guest service aligned with Boyd Style and our VIEW Core Values.
2. Performing electrical work including wiring, troubleshooting, repairs, and safety inspections.
3. Completing plumbing repairs, installations, and system maintenance.
4. Maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including compressors, chillers, and water towers.
5. Supporting all facility equipment, structures, furnishings, and fixtures, including repairs and general mechanical maintenance.
6. Reparing and replacing defective parts in units and equipment, including thermostats, fans, relays, filters, and controls.
7. Performing general mechanical repairs, fabrication, and maintenance of devices, motors, and pumps.
8. Carrying out surface preparation and painting, wallpapering, and wall covering maintenance.
9. Performing rough and finished carpentry work on structures and furniture.
10. Conducting preventive maintenance and supporting hotel mechanical services.
11. Maintaining shop and storage areas, inventories, and documenting work through the system.
12. Participating in professional development and staying updated on industry trends.
13. Performing other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus five years’ experience in maintenance, HVAC, or a related field.
• Trade school graduation with relevant focus and basic Microsoft Office skills are preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems, codes, safety standards, and construction techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints, operate tools and equipment, and perform skilled maintenance and repair work.
• Must obtain and maintain relevant licenses/certifications and be at least 21 years old.

The role requires a minimum of three years’ engineering experience in a large hotel/casino or an AA Degree in a related field with five years’ experience. Supervisory experience is a plus.
