Job summary

UNC Finance and Operations in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an Engineer-2 to lead commissioning and energy management for capital building projects on campus. You will develop commissioning scope, coordinate with designers and end users, and oversee third-party agents to ensure projects meet performance goals.

The role also covers energy conservation work, life-cycle cost analyses, and building energy modeling with a focus on optimizing HVAC systems within budget and schedule constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning for capital building projects, develop scope of work, select third-party agents, negotiate contracts, and oversee work.
• Coordinate testing, system training, and interfaces between project teams, UNC Facilities, and end users.
• Provide commissioning and retro-commissioning for smaller projects, develop control schematics, perform BAS testing, and troubleshoot.
