Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. seeks a Commissioning Engineer I in Chapel Hill to support energy-efficient building solutions. You will develop and coordinate system test procedures, train users, and conduct performance tests, ensuring field observations and progress meetings inform project delivery.

You will assist in document control, apply codes and standards, and collaborate across disciplines. A strong FE background, safety awareness, and teamwork are essential for client success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering from an accredited program.
• General understanding of building systems across disciplines and knowledge in at least one discipline (HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, lighting, instrumentation and controls, or building envelope).
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines and standards related to commissioning, design and construction.
• Experience in computer operation for engineering calculation programs and ability to learn CAD/BIM software for interpreting design requirements.
• Valid driver's license and state required vehicle insurance.
