Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer 3 to support the Air Breathing Propulsion department, performing thermo-structural analyses and developing material models. The role is on-site in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, with a requirement for Secret clearance.

The engineer will coordinate multi-disciplinary design, optimization, and analysis strategies and prepare technical reports for customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with Structural Analysis.
• Experience with Thermal Analysis.
• Experience with thermal analytical simulation of air-breathing engines.
• ANSYS mechanical experience.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance and SAP access prior to supporting the project

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical approaches to resolve structural and thermo-structural issues.
• Provide recommendations on structural mechanics and materials to working groups.
• Develop methodologies, interpret analytical results, and recommend design improvements.
• Prepare technical reports and present work products to internal and external customers.
• Provide technical assessments of test hardware and test data.
• Develop material models for thermal or structural analyses.
• Assist in developing material test plans, selecting test methods, and analyzing test data to support material modeling.
• Provide analytical services for failure investigations, including developing fault trees and assessing fault causes.
• Assist project teams in designing experiments to gather data for detailed analyses.
• Form working relationships with the internal and external customer technical community.
• Organize, preserve, and manage engineering data, design documentation, and models.

An opportunity is available for an Engineer Aeronautical 3 to support the Air Breathing Propulsion department. This position is located on-site in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Role Overview

The position involves applying engineering principles, industry standards, and customer requirements to develop and perform thermo-structural analysis simulations. This work supports design activities across all product lines for Propulsion Systems and Controls. The role includes developing thermo-structural models, gridding, selecting boundary conditions and constraints, and choosing appropriate material properties and simulation methodologies. Additionally, this position will coordinate strategies for leveraging multi-disciplinary design, optimization, and analysis processes.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Applied knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).
• Experience with Structural Analysis.
• Experience with Thermal Analysis.
• Experience with thermal analytical simulation of air-breathing engines.
• ANSYS mechanical experience.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance and SAP access prior to supporting the project

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DOD Secret Clearance
• Experience with thermal/structural analytical simulation of air-breathing engines; experience with rocket motors is also beneficial.
• Applicable experience in performing thermal/structural analysis on metals and composite materials.
• Knowledge of nonlinear material properties and their implementation using FEA.
• Experience with high and low cycle fatigue, as well as damage tolerance using NASGRO or an equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and present analytical results in both oral and written formats.
• ANSYS ADPL, ANSYS Classic, ANSYS Finite Element Analysis, and Non-Linear Analysis.
