Job summary

The Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking an Engineer 1 to join our maintenance team. You will be an experienced all‑rounder, handling faults and repairs while coordinating with guests, management, contractors and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a hotel maintenance/engineering role, with plumbing qualifications and knowledge of electrical systems, boilers, HVAC, and general fixtures. Salary is $30.20 per hour; permanent position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ hotel maintenance/engineering experience.
• Experience as a qualified plumber.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, gas boilers, booster pumps and heating networks.
• HVAC experience is an advantage and ability to troubleshoot faults.

As an Engineer 1, you will be an experienced all-rounder, comfortable working alongside our guests, management team, contractors, suppliers and all team members. Responsible for managing faults and repairs as needed, you will be conscious to ensure the Health and Safety of colleagues and guests alike.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hotel environment in a maintenance or engineering role and possess the following;

• Qualified Plumber with post qualification experience
• Good working knowledge of electric, gas boilers, booster pumps and heating circuitry
• HVAC experience an advantage and an ability to trouble shoot faults
• Capable of completing basic electrical and carpentry repairs and be familiar with general fixtures and fittings
