Job summary

The Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking an Engineer 1 to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in a hotel environment, with qualifications in plumbing and a solid working knowledge of electrical, boiler systems and HVAC.

You will troubleshoot faults, perform basic electrical and carpentry repairs, and help uphold a safe and comfortable guest experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hotel maintenance/engineering role.
• Qualified Plumber with post-qualification experience.
• Good working knowledge of electric and gas boilers, booster pumps and heating circuitry.
• HVAC experience is an advantage; ability to troubleshoot faults.
• Capable of basic electrical and carpentry repairs; familiarity with fixtures and fittings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair hotel facilities and equipment as needed.
• Manage faults and repairs promptly to minimize guest disruption.
• Collaborate with guests, management, contractors, and suppliers while following safety standards.

As an Engineer 1, you will be an experienced all-rounder, comfortable working alongside our guests, management team, contractors, suppliers and all team members. Responsible for managing faults and repairs as needed, you will be conscious to ensure the Health and Safety of colleagues and guests alike.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hotel environment in a maintenance or engineering role and possess the following;

• HVAC experience an advantage and an ability to trouble shoot faults
• Capable of completing basic electrical and carpentry repairs and be familiar with general fixtures and fittings
