Qualifications

• Technical understanding of bioprocess scaling principles.
• Wet chemistry laboratory skills (pipetting, buffer preparation, filtration, dilution, stoichiometry).

• Excellent collaborative and team-working skills.
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Perform downstream bioprocess purification workflows in a lab setting.
• Operate lab equipment and maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and data records.
• Collaborate with teammates to troubleshoot process issues and optimize purification steps.
• Assist in method development and method transfer within GMP/GLP environments.

Job Description

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Engineer for an Onsite position with a Major Pharmaceutical Company located in West Point, PA. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This is a lab-based role focused on downstream bioprocess purification. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific understanding of purification operations for large complex molecules, wet chemistry laboratory skills, and experience with tangential flow filtration processing.

Requirements:

• BS in Science, Engineering, or related field is heavily preferred
• Experience working with tangential flow filtration processing – microfiltration/ultrafiltration
• Comfortable in a lab environment
• Scientific understanding of downstream bioprocess purification processes
• Scientific understanding of purification operations of large complex molecules
• Technical understanding of bioprocess scaling principles
• Wet chemistry laboratory skills (pipetting, buffer preparation, filtration, dilution, stoichiometry)
• Proficiency with technical writing and laboratory records (laboratory notebooks, chemical inventory, data management)
• Excellent collaborative and team-working skills
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities, data interpretation and presentation competence

Desired skills:

• Experience working with adjuvant and LNP processing is a plus
• Experience working with analytical instrumentation (plate readers, densitometers, thermocyclers, cIEF, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, HPLC/ UPLC systems)
• Experience with laboratory operations
• Experience working in an industry environment
• Experience conducting laboratory scale process characterization studies
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues (experimental, equipment-related issues)
• Experience in method development and method transfer
• Experience working in GMP and GLP environments

Pay range: up to $43.49 per hour
