Job summary

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in Rancho Santa Fe, CA is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep our hotel running smoothly and safely, handling HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems with a hands-on approach.

You will perform preventive maintenance, address guest room and public area needs, and support a safe, comfortable environment for guests and team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Technical & Preventive Maintenance: inspect and repair plumbing, HVAC, electrical and other systems; perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms and public spaces; do minor carpentry and painting to keep the hotel beautiful and operational.
• Quick-Fix Hero: respond to equipment issues, leaks, and electrical problems; handle emergencies like fire alarms and power outages with safety focus.
• Safety Superpowers: move heavy objects, climb ladders; follow OSHA guidelines; keep areas clean and safe and store tools and hazardous materials properly.

KEY SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical & Preventive Maintenance Powerhouse: Take charge of daily inspections, repairs, and fine‑tuning across our hotel’s plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems—catching small issues before they become big ones. Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on essential equipment (from refrigerators to ice machines), keeping everything running smoothly for an exceptional guest experience. Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to ensure our hotel remains both beautiful and fully operational.
• Quick‑Fix Hero: Jump into action to solve equipment hiccups, leaks, and those mysterious electrical issues—no problem too puzzling! Tackle emergencies like fire alarms and power outages with cool confidence, always putting guest safety front and center.
• Safety Superpowers: Move objects over 50 lbs., scale ladders, and power through physically demanding tasks with strength and stamina. Follow OSHA safety guidelines when wielding tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery—safety first, always! Keep work areas spotless and safe, with proper storage for tools and hazardous materials to protect everyone.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
