Job summary

Aerotek is actively seeking a Surveillance Inspector to join our Engine MRO environment in Miami, FL. This Contract to Hire role focuses on thorough inspections of aviation engine components and assemblies, following manufacturer data and FAA-aligned practices.

The position requires 3–5 years in a lead role, borescope inspection proficiency, and strong regulatory knowledge. Onsite work with 1st/2nd shift availability and comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in engine inspection within an MRO setting.
  • Proficiency with inspection methods and equipment for aircraft jet engines.
  • 3–5 years in a lead role for aircraft jet engine maintenance.
  • Experience with borescope inspection and data interpretation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing aircraft jet engine maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate inspection priorities clearly.
  • English language proficiency required.

Job Title: Surveillance Inspector
Job Description

The Surveillance Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections in accordance with technical data from manufacturers, including instructions for airworthiness, service bulletins, and directives. The role involves performing preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, and final inspections on civil aviation equipment, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and industry practices.

Responsibilities
  • Become thoroughly familiar with inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used within the assigned area.
  • Maintain proficiency in using inspection aids and ensure they are properly calibrated and in working order.
  • Understand current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations, and procedures established by the manufacturer of the article being inspected.
  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed, recorded, and approved before the return to service of articles maintained or altered.
  • Perform disassembly and repair of aircraft engine usable parts.
  • Assist with the reconfiguration or reconditioning of equipment.
  • Perform scripted test procedures to isolate failure to sub-assembly and/or component level.
  • Replace failed sub-assembly, part, or component to restore device functionality.
  • Perform scripted repair procedures to repair and test parts or products.
  • Assist repair technicians, engineers, and technical services as required.
  • Maintain constant adherence to inventory control practices and procedures.
  • Interpret OEM manuals and router instructions.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in engine inspection within an MRO setting, specifically isolated engines.
  • Proficiency in using inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment for aircraft jet engine maintenance.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a lead role for aircraft jet engine maintenance.
  • Experienced with borescope inspection and interpretation of technical data during the process.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing aircraft jet engine maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate inspection priorities clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Airframe and/or Powerplant license preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $52.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
