Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Quality Inspector in Wichita, KS to perform in-process and final inspections on machined aerospace parts. You will use CMM, micrometers, calipers and other gauges to validate parts against work instructions and AS9102 First Article requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and planning documents, standards, and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • CMM experience is helpful.

Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will perform both in-process and final inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies to ensure they meet engineering and work instruction requirements. Your role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of quality and safety in our production processes.

Responsibilities
  • Determine and utilize appropriate inspection methods and instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, air gages, radius gages, calipers, and CMM to complete inspections.
  • Conduct simple to moderate layouts and setups on a surface plate for machined aerospace parts and assemblies.
  • Initiate nonconformance records and process parts not meeting the required standards.
  • Complete First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 and company/contractual requirements.
  • Strive to improve inspection effectiveness and efficiency by identifying and supporting the implementation of process improvements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic manufacturing shop environment where you'll regularly stand and walk throughout the facility. The role requires the ability to lift, carry, and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance and operate various tools and equipment safely. Be prepared for exposure to excessive noise, dust, smoke, fumes, extreme temperatures, and hazardous equipment. Personal protective equipment such as hearing, eye, and hand protection, as well as safety footwear, is mandatory.

This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
