Job summary

Amentum is hiring Engine Test Technicians to join the Engine Dyno lab in Dearborn, MI. Candidates should have automotive knowledge from work or hobby, with a passion to learn automotive testing under a leader in the industry. This day-shift position offers full benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include conducting dynamometer tests, data review, fixture fabrication, and collaboration with engineers and supervisors on test procedures and equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong understanding of engines and powertrain.
• Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a wide variety of gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing.
• Support development, durability and performance testing in an engine dynamometer facility.
• Review and validate data for accuracy and provide recommendations to engineering.
• Fabricate basic fixtures as needed.
• Interface with technologists, engineers and supervisors on test procedures and equipment updates.
• Verify calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
• Install engines on dynamometer, connect instrumentation, diagnose issues, run tests and modify parts as needed.
