Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Assembly Technician C on first shift, onsite in East Hartford, CT. The role involves building and disassembling gas turbine engines, subassemblies, and accessories, following detailed instructions, and using precision tools to ensure quality.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or equivalent, plus trades training achieving an A&P license or equivalent experience; 1-3 years of aerospace mechanic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Trades training achieving A&P license or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience as an aerospace mechanic or A&P mechanic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform the work necessary to build and/or disassemble production, experimental and overhaul gas turbine engines, modules, subassemblies and accessories.
• Follow work instructions, blue prints, and engineering bulletins to assure compliance with requirements.
• Set up and use appropriate hand, power, and specialized tooling to perform tasks in support of department goals.
• Perform static balance operations on rotating engine parts as required.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check assembly dimensions and ensure proper installation.
• Enter required data on engine history record sheets and computer systems.
