Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is seeking an Assembly Technician C for the 2nd shift onsite. You will build and disassemble gas turbine engines, modules, subassemblies and accessories following engineering instructions and blueprints.

The role requires HS Diploma or equivalent and trades training to obtain an A&P license or equivalent experience; 1–3 years aerospace mechanic experience preferred. This is a union-represented, onsite position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Trades training in specialized field achieving A&P license or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform the work necessary to build and/or disassemble gas turbine engines, modules, subassemblies and accessories.
• Follow work instructions, blueprints and drawings to assure compliance with requirements.
• Set up and use tooling and fixtures to perform tasks in support of department goals.
• Perform static balance operations on rotating engine parts following procedures.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check assembly dimensions.
• Enter required data on engine history records and computer systems.
• Assist with co-producer, customer support and retrofit projects to accommodate changes.
• Identify problem areas and recommend corrective actions to expedite resolution.
