• Appropriate license from Massachusetts DESE; Elementary 1-6.
• Bachelor’s Degree with license; or Master’s Degree with license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Instruct assigned classes at designated locations/times.
• Plan a program of study meeting students' needs and abilities.
• Create a conducive classroom environment.
• Guide learning toward district curriculum goals and communicate objectives.
• Prepare for classes and document preparation.
• Use diverse instructional techniques and media.
• Implement district philosophy and goals.
• Assess student progress and provide reports; communicate with parents.
• Maintain accurate records as required by policy.
• Diagnose learning challenges; seek district specialist assistance.
• Protect students and property.
• Follow code of conduct and establish classroom behavior rules.
• Plan/supervise paraprofessionals; provide evaluations.
• Participate in ongoing professional growth.
• Engage in teacher evaluation process.
• Attend meetings; participate in activities.
• Contribute to district decisions on budget/facilities/curriculum.
• Strive to maintain professional competence.
