Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA is seeking an Assistant Child Care Teacher to support a developmentally appropriate daily program. The role involves aiding planning and implementation, promoting affective, cognitive, physical, and social development, and communicating with parents and staff.

You will work under supervision to ensure safe, healthful care of enrolled children while contributing to curriculum planning and classroom organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of work experience related to child care.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Compliance with Child Abuse History and FBI fingerprinting checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining an efficient, well-arranged classroom with organized activity areas.
• Provide materials and activities aligned with children's development.
• Support multi-sensory learning environments and social-emotional development.
• Communicate with families and staff, participate in meetings.
• Assist with planning and implementing daily curriculum and record-keeping.
