Job summary

Guidehouse's Associate Director role within our Energy Providers practice is seeking a leader to join our team. You will support leadership of electric and gas utilities as they navigate the energy transition, serving US clients and leading engagements with strong strategy and problem-solving skills.

The role requires experience in the utilities/energy sector, the ability to manage multiple workstreams, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Must be US citizen or US permanent resident due to client engagements.
• Strategy background from a consulting firm with utilities focus preferred.
• Strong business and project management fundamentals.
• Proven business development experience in utilities or energy sectors.
• Advanced experience in Excel modeling and PowerPoint reporting.

Responsibilities

• Understand client business challenges and energy transition goals.
• Develop relationships within utilities and adjacent sectors.
• Support strategy, design, and delivery of project workstreams.
• Lead workshops and coordinate client meetings.
• Communicate solutions through clear reports and presentations.
• Engage in business development and RFP processes.
• Lead day-to-day internal teams across multiple workstreams.
• Coach and mentor project team members.
• Provide input to project directors for delivery quality.
• Develop strategy storylines and operating models.
• Create detailed strategy roadmaps for implementation.
• Analyze macro trends and regulatory impacts on utilities.
