Job summary

K&A Power Group – K&A Engineering in Rochester, New York, seeks a Project Manager I to lead large-scale utility projects. You will define the project WBS, set cost baselines, manage risks, schedules, and budgets, and serve as the main client contact across teams.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in utility program management, PE and/or PMP, and proficiency in MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint. Salary range $115,000-$125,000 annually plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is Required.
• 5+ years in large scale projects/program management for utility business.
• Professional Engineer License and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint.
• PM/Program Management certification preferred.
• Experience in Substations, T&D, Gas-Hydro and OSG.

Responsibilities

• Initiation, Planning, Executing, and Closing Projects with WBS, Cost Baseline and OBS.
• Managing Teams — commitment, productivity, removal of obstacles.
• Quality and Environmental processes to meet SPI and CPI < 1.0.
• Management of third-party projects and interconnecting customers.
• Cost/Budgeting, Communication, Change, Schedule, and Risk Management.
• Main point of contact between contractors and the client; monitor performance.
