Job summary

Fredrikson & Byron, P.A. is seeking a transactional associate with 2-5 years of legal experience to join our Energy department. The role focuses on commercial contracts, supplier agreements, power procurement, energy storage contracting, construction agreements, M&A, project finance, and other strategic transactions.

The position offers a hybrid work environment. While candidates in Minneapolis are preferred, we will consider candidates working from another Fredrikson office or remotely;

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of legal experience in private practice or related in-house positions
• Interest in the energy industry
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong academic background
• J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Ability to practice law or be admitted in New York is a plus

Responsibilities

• Focus on transactional/commerce work: contracts, supplier agreements, power procurement, energy storage contracts, construction agreements, M&A, project finance and other strategic transactions
• Provide legal analysis and drafting support for energy related commercial matters
• Collaborate with partners and clients across offices on cross-border and cross-functional deals
• Contribute to negotiations and due diligence processes as part of deal teams
