Job summary

Fredrikson & Byron seeks a transactional associate with 2-5 years of experience to join our Energy department. The role focuses on commercial contracts, supplier agreements, power procurement, energy storage contracting, construction agreements, M&A, and project finance. Hybrid work is offered; Minneapolis preferred, cases reviewed for remote or other offices.

Ideal candidates have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school, an active U.S.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of legal experience in private practice or related in-house positions.
• Interest in the energy industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong academic background.
• J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School.
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Ability to practice law or be admitted in New York is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle commercial/transactional work including contracts and supplier agreements.
• Work on power procurement, energy storage contracting, and construction agreements.
• Contribute to M&A transactions and project finance initiatives.
• Collaborate with energy team and clients to advance strategic transactions.
