Job summary

Clarios is seeking a Program Buyer to coordinate cross-functional, cross-location purchasing activities from RFQ through SOP and launch stabilization. You will drive supplier readiness, negotiate costs, and manage launch milestones with a focus on price, timing, quality, and supplier accountability.

The role requires 5+ years in program purchasing or related fields within automotive or industrial manufacturing, plus a solid track record in RFQ management and cost control.

Qualifications

• University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Program Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, or similar roles in automotive or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience supporting customer RFQs, supplier sourcing, nominations, and launch readiness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sourcing- and launch-related purchasing activities with timelines and milestones.
• Report supplier readiness, BOM cost status, and project purchasing status to senior management.
• Lead supplier negotiations on cost, timing, and contractual topics.
• Facilitate supplier workshops on cost-down actions, feasibility, and launch readiness.
• Support cost estimates, target price setting, and build-up during RFQ and program development phases.
• Execute RFQ packages, quote analysis, negotiations, supplier nominations, and sourcing documentation.
• Oversee prototype, sample, tooling, and launch-related orders until handover to plants and commodity owners.
• Identify cost-saving potentials via VA/VE, design-to-cost, localization, and benchmarking.
• Prepare and present project purchasing data to stakeholders as needed.
• Develop expert understanding of supplier markets and capacity constraints.
• Act as purchasing head of project and provide functional leadership.
• Monitor launch activities and resolve issues related to sourcing, cost, and supplier readiness.
• Serve as escalation point and trainer for purchasing colleagues.
• Organize and set up the purchasing project team with clear roles and interfaces.
• Support improvement of purchasing tools and digital enablers.
