Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks an Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for electrical maintenance and installations. You will work on wiring, testing, and equipment, following plans and safety standards.

A minimum of two years' related experience plus a high school diploma or GED is required; trade certification and union training are preferred. You will read plans, install systems, and perform preventive maintenance, with emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum two years of related experience in electrical work.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma is required.
• Apprentice aptitude test may be required.
• Union-specific training and Mortenson-specific training are preferred.
• Current driver's license and ability to read plans is required.
• Ability to read English and use common electrical tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test systems with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes for safety and compatibility.
• Repair and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, and circuits.
• Study plans and work orders to determine requirements and sequence.
• Maintain safe work environment and comply with codes and standards.
