Job summary

Dow Jones Energy Sponsorship Sales and Business Development Representative will prospect and close sponsorship sales for assigned events, while building relationships with trade associations and publications globally to expand the events portfolio.

You will collaborate with marketing, editorial, and internal teams to qualify and develop new business from multiple sources, and report to the Executive Director - Conference & Event Operations. Moderate travel required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in conference and event sponsorship sales, ideally in the energy industry.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to build and develop relationships.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude in an often fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of and genuine interest in our conference topics.
• Salesforce or Cvent experience (preferred).
• College degree (preferred) -OR- equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop new sponsorship opportunities and customers utilizing leads provided by marketing, analysts and senior conference team members.
• Respond to and close sales leads for assigned events.
• In conjunction with conference team members, develop new prospects for external sales outreach.
• Assist in the expansion of prospects for both attendance and sponsorships across the events portfolio by developing new association and publication relationships.
• Build relationships across the organization to identify new opportunities quickly & efficiently.
• Ensure that all paperwork (contracts, agreements, etc) are written, executed and returned in a timely fashion.
• Travel domestically and/or internationally around 5%-10% to attend events and solidify relationships with both current and new sponsors and customers.
• Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth of the team.
