Dow Jones Energy Sponsorship Sales and Business Development Representative is responsible for prospecting and closing sponsorships and group registrations at assigned events. You will build relationships with trade associations, publications, and organizations globally, working with marketing and editorial teams to qualify and convert prospects.

As a Dow Jones Energy Sponsorship Sales and Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for prospecting and closing new sponsorship sales and group registrations within assigned events, in addition to developing new relationships with trade associations, publications, and organizations on a global scale to increase the reach and visibility of the events portfolio. By working closely with the marketing, editorial and other internal teams you will be able to qualify, validate and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, conference and prospect lists, discovery and individual research. You will report to the Executive Director - Conference & Event Operations.
Develop new sponsorship opportunities and customers utilizing leads provided by marketing, analysts and senior conference team members
Respond to and close sales leads for assigned events
In conjunction with conference team members, develop new prospects for external sales outreach
Assist in the expansion of prospects for both attendance and sponsorships across the events portfolio by developing new association and publication relationships
Build relationships across the organization to identify new opportunities quickly & efficiently
Ensure that all paperwork (contracts, agreements, etc) are written, executed and returned in a timely fashion
Travel domestically and/or internationally around 5%-10% to attend events and solidify relationships with both current and new sponsors and customers

Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth of the team
0-2 years of experience in conference and event sponsorship sales, ideally in the energy industry
Commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to build and develop relationships
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in an often fast-paced environment
Knowledge of and genuine interest in our conference topics
Salesforce or Cvent experience (preferred)
College degree (preferred) -OR- equivalent work experience
