Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a MPG-FA Project Intern position in Texas, with hybrid work between office and active sites. The role supports project tracking, reporting, and construction activities across wind, solar, battery storage, and combustion turbine facilities.

The internship is for a May 31, 2027 start date, with potential extension based on performance. Travel within TX/NM and full-time summer hours are required, with part-time during the school year.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student in ABET-accredited program
• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
• Strong interest in renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

• Support project tracking, reporting, and documentation for active energy projects
• Participate in field visits to observe construction sites and safety practices
• Collaborate with project managers, coordinators, engineers, and contractors
• Assist with data collection, development, and construction support activities
• Learn project development and construction processes for wind, solar, storage and turbine facilities
